This form is actually a sestet, but it is not in the list :) *** BORN THIS WAY (with thanks to Lady Gaga, I borrowed the title for this poem from her) You question all I stand for Afraid of who I seem Surprised too, that I gleam It seems that you abhor All that to me is typical To you it's only criminal I didn't choose to be gay I am born this way! You pray for my salvation You think I can be cured After all that I endured What you see is damnation My shattered evil soul You don't see I am whole. I didn't choose to be gay I am born this way! I let you go, enough now! Be well, but without me I hope one day you'll see that, odd enough, somehow My life is worth to live I have so much to give. In a more reasonable world love preferences wouldn't even be an issue. The ironic thing is that masculinity and femininity in their pure conventional forms aren't great enough to make such a big fuss over. Personally i like diversity in all things. I'd also like to thank you for your comments and support. I needed a dose of appreciation.

No thanks are necessary. And indeed, the reason I sometimes write about being gay is not because I think it's so very important, but because of the importance apparently to certain groups of people. I am just being me *shrug*

It's the weight of a history of violence towards homosexuals you carry Darren. Your generation is the one turning the tide against that violence. All it takes to break taboos is to speak out loud against them, just as you are doing now.

You remind me of a friend, now deceased. I miss him very much. He was gay and always said he didn't choose it. He was born that way. I appreciate your honest, open literary work. Be strong in who you are. That is all any of us can be.

You are right. We are all born this way. Embrace it don't worry about the haters. Spread your love to those who need it and you truly will be greatfull....Merry Christmas my friend

There is nothing wrong in being born a gay.I dont see any difference in what gender.we are...and nor of who we are..We are all human with a heart that feels.Have a Blessed Christmas dear friend...and Happy Holidays.
