boom

plunged deep into morning fire smoldering dawn burning my dirty windshield sweet ribbon of highway sprawled beneath me wheels churning home the long long way darkness explodes into day and I'm not quite there yet but damn it feels so good to be this far to be this close boom

This poem (although about a longer drive) reminded me of my commuting days...driving in the dark...always seemed like the drive was longer at night...perhaps because I was tired. I can relate. Have a pleasant evening, Sara
