Bones Ache Yet Heart Sings

Listen to poem:
Through restless nights and weary days, When strength is lost in endless haze, The body, worn down, and weathered, cries. But, deep within the spirit roars soars and defies. The bones may groan with each passing year, Reminders of old age's, garnered, tattered sphere, But deep within, an everlasting fire still burns bright, Igniting endless hopeful dreams so bright, in the dead dark night. Every ache, every twinge, a testament to strife, But the heart resilient, soaring, embraces life. It brings hope of love, laughter, and joys yet untold, Of dreams to bud and bloom, of stories yet to unfold. So let the old bones ache, let them groan, For within, the spirit's seed sown, has grown, Singing melodies that soar higher and higher, Over the desolate and thorny bramble briar. My heart's song brings warmth and relief Like a hot water bottle, it relieves the grief It archives the aches, it soothes the pain, So my life's journey can resume again.
