Bones

By Laura Dee Battle January 26, 2015 I threw a stone above your head I scared you off It wasn't said The ruins I left long ago So distant now How could I know? The trace of space I kept you in To suffocate To cut your skin The memories I'm clinging to The haunting ghost Of me and you So people, people, come around I'll put your bones into the ground Give me a chance to stain your heart I'll show you where the echoes start The lies I spin are now leaking out Shed light on me Don't make me shout Burn the shadows in my heart Light the match Let's fall apart Let's hold the hand I'll never show If you can fight Maybe you'll know So people, people come around Put our bones into the ground You must be strong to stain my heart The light of day is where we'll start
