Blue

i can never go back to where i've been. you left me with such a horrible tast in my mouth. the china dolls are cracked, about as splintered as your smile. babe, we've changed. i can see we've changed. your ocean eyes are turning red, again. they're about as glassy as the bottle that you can't seem to put down. please, just put the bottle down. babe, you never change. you will never change. i've scratched my eyes out everynight trying to make my mind feel right. i don't know what else i can possible do. baby, if you love me, won't you please come back from blue? keep laughing dear, the sound is contagious. i'll keep crying dear, your voice is outragious. we'll keep running here, we're mice lost in the maze. we only come up to get down. back to blue, back to the bourbon sea. drifting where the broken bottles and hungry rats welcome the dregs of you and me. as it hits your face there's a change in pace, and it's in these few seconds i've been replaced by a blue angel, descending from grace. until the alcohol wears thin, this isn't a battle that i can win. i've stratched my eyes out every night i hold my breath to feel so light, (god, i hope i pop.) i let gravity soak through my skin til i go back to blue. until you've brought me back to blue. baby, we've changed, but you'll never change.
