Bliss of Forgiveness
Pardoned fully from iniquities’ doom
Heart basks in bliss midst serene delight
While guilt is vanquished by clemency-bloom
Gift of God offered with redemptive light
Compassion at work along truth and right.
Forgiven* of confessed transgression gloom
Soul is ransomed against condemnation blight
With assured eternal life for heavenly zoom
Granted by the Saviour upon grace-might
Sanctifying human nature spite.
Acquitted in that sin-judgment courtroom
Spirit now soars toward service height
While joyous life-building role does assume
Safeguarded against imprisoning fright
Thanking the Lord for triumphant stewardship flight.
Fulfilling ministerial tasks though temptations loom
Faith perseveres propped by prayer plight
Overcoming angst that skeptic doubts presume
To bear fruits of good works’ sight
Exalting Christ of devotion contrite.
*Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
