Blinking Away the Ugliness
If I squint my eyes just right,
I see the good that surrounds most evil,
Absorbing it within sponges of compassion,
Many things started out so sweet then turning so sour,
Well made intentions becoming such messy beds,
The hate living in minds only because of love,
To which it owes its very existence,
Must be hell to live with it in heads tiny quarters,
No place to run but out of angry eyes and mouths,
Blazing trails that lead only to eventual sorrow,
No matter how long you live it will surely die,
Roads to destruction leading to dead ends of life,
Spirit waiting to carry all who care to beauty,
Eye lash brooms sweeping away tears to clear the way,
Melting into cheeks that were always meant to smile.
