Blind
I never really ever saw
What you did to me
But one day I woke up
And suddenly could not see!
I hollered for my momma
I don’t think she heard me
So I hobbled down my 30 steps
Why does it have to be 30?
And then I lurched forward
Screaming like a banshee
As I rolled down the stairs
I’m sure I broke my knee
My momma yells from the kitchen,
“Come and have some tea!”
So I yelled back,
“But I can’t even see!”
My momma rushed over
And closely inspected me
Then she exclaimed
with obvious glee
the exact reason
why I could not see
“Your eyes are red,
and you can’t see,
because you stare at that computer all day,
what else could it be!”
