Blind

Sometimes it does well to wonder, Or maybe just sit down to ponder, What it'd be like if the world were blind, Just through the eyes, but not through the mind What if no one could really see, What looked like you or looked like me? Do you think then maybe it would show? The true beauty of the world we know? Maybe appearance wouldn't matter as much, As opinions, ideas, thoughts and such The things that truly do shape who we are Whether skinny or fat, prim or scarred We'd know by the words, the actions, the heart, That we humans have not just the art, Of lying, deceiving, prejudicial misleading But of faith, of trust, of honest conceding Maybe then history would've not been as tragic, As to lose such hope, such beauty, such magic Maybe then the natives, the indigenous, the slaves Would have never been left crying in their graves Maybe then the world could be a better place, If eyes were not a feature of the face, So what if everyone were really blind? I don't think I would really mind...

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
