Blanket of Sorrows

Clinging
Wrapping tightly
Sorrow shatters daylight
Pushing darkness ~ beyond sunlight's
Grasping

I have always liked the Cinquain style... I have a few myself... You followed the strict iambic meter, and the poem flowed nicely... AWESOME......:JP)

Very evocative poem of a sad situation. I like the form and have written some myself in the past. Thanks for your comments! Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish

Sadness can form a type of cocoon around us, James. Until we find a way to ley the joy of light in again, we remain, as you say, in a blanket of sorrows. Excellent cinquain! Love, Carolyn
