I sat on the patio watching the grass move in steady waves, those long heads of golden seed as calming as harbor waves. Their movement was synchronized yet independent, their hues so close yet unique. While they danced, I heard the song of crickets and the chirps of birds, content to be warmed by the sun’s warm, gentle rays.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ a simple blade of grass without fanfare quietly sustains its life
A beautiful poem dearest Sara. The grass is a few of the tougher plants, and for that I am grateful. You yearn for a seat on the verdant grass, to smell its scent and to behold its beauty. I pray that your Easter was beautiful.
ahhh, thank you, Sotto. You're most kind. I appreciate your gratitude for grass. I'm amazed that individually and collectively the blades of grass in our yard survive the Texas heat. Yes, our Easter was beautiful--soft and quiet. Have a splendid day, your poetess friend in Texas, Sara
