Black Love

What is black love? What does it mean to me? It’s not a dream, it’s a reality It’s in our bonding, It’s in our genes, It’s a birthright,it’s serene, It’s found in distant lands With brothers and sisters Walking hand in hand, Cousins, aunts, uncles and friends Some residing in the tropics Others in barren lands Uniting as a force, become one. With unity and strength to meet our needs, When we treasure our lives and plant a seed, Of prosperity, hope and love, In our everyday voyage, In our courage With an African spirit Unspoiled and untainted By alien cultures not embracing, But bonded by African dream In purposes and causes, Till eternity.
