Black Dawn
T’was a black dawn
that morning you left
that day of storming winds
when God
flicked his finger
tossing you from his sky
planting you deep
deep down
in the dirt of earth.
The earth you once
upon a time
in that when of then
of times before
when you would fly
fly and soar
cruise your plane
high above
beloved earth below.
The earth
where now
you live
below.
