Black and White

First title: A Tale of Two Sheep
Black Sheep has wool too dark for dyes. No one wants him; Black Sheep cries. White Sheep, though, gets praise for wool which takes all hues. They call him cool! Black sheep's the creep. That is the tale which, sadly, folks know all too well. 3/6/16. Revised Feb. 17, 2017 For the Colors Black and White Poetry Contest of Laura Loo/center>

Sometimes the black sheep deserve their label, other times they are just non conforming and interesting. I like the moral and the poem Andrea. Congratulations! :-)

Timely, dear Andrea. In this African tribe there is a white baby born. The white pastor points out nature - "Look, it's nature - see, a black sheep." The chief says, "You shut up bout da sheep, I'll keep quiet bout da baby" Hardy ho, ho, ho. Love, Dirty Old daver

Some deep thoughts Andrea. I wanted to do this one but my time is so limited anymore. It's hard to find the time. All of Silent One's other color poems have filled up before I even saw them posted, except the first one.

Oh...we chose the same pic, Andrea. Even more strange....we have the same word...shunned. Dear me. Different take though...thank goodness for that. :) Give mine a read when you've got a minute. Hard to make this form flow...You did a great job of it. When will we ever be free of labels??

Your entry is really great Andrea. My favorite are the white sheep with black faces I saw in Ireland in Sligo. This poem will most likely get top honors Andrea! ; )

I don't know, Andrea. I think a black wool coat would be pretty cool myself! Great take on the picture ... and I love your original title. A Tale of Two Sheep.
