Bittersweet Christmas
Christmas for me is bittersweet,
I can still smell mother's cooking;
A green frosty pine scented tree,
Snow falling like delicate lace.
I can still smell mother's cooking,
She loved the holiday season;
I like december and the cold,
But Christmas for me is sadness.
A green frosty pine scented tree,
Father draped it with glowing lights;
I would hang the colorful balls,
Grandma threw the silver tinsel.
Snow falling like delicate lace,
Still, love to watch the white falling;
And my little nest shines so bright,
With those same old decorations.
