Bittersweet

Bittersweet By Kevin Robey September 24, 2013 I remember the voices I recall every thought Staining the bright lights Taking all that I sought The call to arms was made Every word you said was true The scars you took away Never asked too much from you The echoes fade away With words we never said The silence fills the air Above lies in our bed Laughing as we talk Above our rotting grave Dreams from long ago The wages that I gave Its bittersweet I guess Smiling at the ghosts The wreckage that we left Hosts our daily toasts Hoping that one day soon Voices leave me and you Find a place where we can build A brand-new start for something true
