Birthday Party
My family was celebrating my birthday number sixty-five.
Grandson Zachary, who as I recall, was about the age of five,
Asked me after I'd finished blowing out the candles galore,
"Grandpa, how old are you today?" His retort has become family lore!
When I replied, "Zach, today I'm the ripe old age of sixty-five!"
He became very serious and said, "Well, at least you're still alive!"
