Birds Are Born To Fly
Time reshapes reality
as the years go zipping by.
And yet, nothing changes much;
the same stars light up the sky.
I pray that all wars will end;
no soldier should needlessly die.
But the folly of those hopes;
makes the poet in me cry.
There are no superheroes
to fight for the little guy.
And justice is far from blind,
based on the lawyer you buy.
Political corruption
has left me no will to try.
A poor man is born to lose
sure as birds are born to fly.
Defending democracy,
disappointment's always nigh.
For truth; is the only truth;
everything else is a lie.
