Beyond Vantage Point

When the sun disappears from our presence Hidden away by huge orbs of dark clouds Spirits become forlorn, emotions tensed Our focus is lost, and we float about. As if we just lost our best friend, we mourn The days when the sun made it all sublime We could see our life and future far out Sure, all of our dreams would come true in time. Suddenly it all disappears from view Fears enter our being, and hopes are gone Whisked away by menacing threats of doom We blame the elements for this let down. In so doing, we fail to see the truth That we were made in the image of God That within us lie the strength, the virtues And vision to reach beyond our look out. In truth, the sun shines on, even when shunned By storm cloud like forces out of its grasp That oppose its purpose, till once again It breaks through and in its rays we bask. Wonderful visualization of how the lack of light is not bad, but only there to regulate our measure of perception. "And vision to reach beyond our look out", I feel you here. To reach through the clouds, the dark, the fearful, I have found true happiness in this thought in my life. Truly the light and dark serve a beautiful purpose. As I am teaching myself to not view the storm cloud as "negative", I am finding myself becoming happy, happier than I have ever been in my life. I love your thoughts

Hon, those clouds appear in all our lives. As you express so eloquently, we just have to wait until the sun peaks through again. Hope the sun is shining on your life right now, dear friend. You have quite a gift for inspiring hope! Love, Carolyn

Very true. The Light of the World sent the sun to be our guide during the days. Such a beautiful poem.
