Beyond the Pasture
Love of summer breezes fair
Teases gently through the hair
For an instant, like an infant
Swaddled all in carefree wonder
Gone the blast of winter night
Along the road to favorite places
Songs and laughter fill the spaces
Memory raises souls delight
Round the turn another hour
Pastures fair defy the pause
All bowing to a higher cause
Rebirth intrepid fields of flowers
