Beyond Midnight
In the dead of night she awakens from a dream
And as she ponders what it means
She hears the faint sound of thunder
Then lightning rips the sky asunder
And shatters a night so serene
Beyond midnight as rain starts to fall
And raindrops trickle down her window sill
She goes back to sleep to the rain's rhythmic call
And continued to dream until
the rain ceased and all was still
