Beyond Midnight

In the dead of night she awakens from a dream And as she ponders what it means She hears the faint sound of thunder Then lightning rips the sky asunder And shatters a night so serene Beyond midnight as rain starts to fall And raindrops trickle down her window sill She goes back to sleep to the rain's rhythmic call And continued to dream until the rain ceased and all was still

Love the flow of this poem and the theme is so apt to what happens to us when woken by a storm-- literal and emotional. Well written.
