Beyond Midnight

Scorpions plan their exploits in the dark night, not wanting to be exposed in the light, Moon rays become more intense in dark sky, As crickets sing praises than the night fly, And midnight breeze sends out true jasmine smell, real impending danger is hard to tell, Rodents seek pleasure in the closed drainage which makes alley difficult to manage, The hour has come for evil to be done, I shiver on my bed for I have no gun, Sounds of explosions echoed through the air, like being in the midst of civil warfare, I pray for dawn to approach with her light, daybreak may give solace from this wrong fight.
