Well written humorous limerick. And aren't all wars fought for "vanilla beans"?

LOL All goods have risen in price. Market demand and availability/scarcity. Funny limerick Rico. :) Linda

Perhaps the pandemic has motived more people stuck at home to make dinner from scratch? Aloha! Rico

G’day Rico … although I enjoy vanilla I had no idea it came from a bean. Worth protecting by the sound of it - thanks Rico - Lindsay

It expands the definition of bean-counter, doesn't it? Aloha! Rico

Your limerick makes me glad I don't crave coffee. Talk about "sticker shock," I remember my mother complaining when a loaf of bread's price was raised to 11 cents. If I were Prisilla, I'd let the guerrilla have the entire crop. LOL Hugs, Carolyn

Yes, I don't understand the fascination with coffee. Its smell gives me a headache. Now that it's so costly, I'm glad I don't like it.

When Uncle Sam sent me overseas, a cup of coffee was ten cents and refills were free. Now everyone sells watered-down coffee for BIG bucks, so lucky you missed out on that! Aloha! Rico

Mahalo, Ilene! It seems beans are better than gold because they can be eaten if the market declines. Aloha! Rico
