Best Thing Since Sliced Bread
Running down the road with the wind behind my tail
I am off to buy a loaf of bread, out in a forceful gale
Checking out the cheese selection, and the ham too
Chucked in a few tomatoes and then off home I flew
Hung my coat to dry, and donned my warm slippers
Cats at my feet, one whiff of ham, I guess it figures
Filling up my toastie bags with cheese and with ham
With thin cut slices of tomatoes, just because I can
Two golden toasties now sitting on my waiting plate
A bit of salt and coarse pepper boy they taste great
It beats cooking a meal and washing all those dishes
And to top it all, they tasted flamin' yummy delicious
As why I have made my toasties out to be so grand
I flamin' haven't had one for months do understand
My old toaster blew a fuse, as went out back to rust
As came 7 months I could no longer contain my lust
To which I can honestly say, was well worth the wait
Now as to what I put in the next toastie, my debate
