Beside Me
Walk with me,
within this dreamscape,
Where the land meets the ocean.
And the ocean blends into the sky.
The rolling surf
Caresses the earth
The sands washed relentlessly by the tides.
Will you walk beside me
Your hand clasped warmly within mine?
Will you see this, as I see it?
And remember this moment
In time?
Will you listen to the waves
As they come
Seeking to crash upon the beach..
Can you come to me where I am?
Have I gone beyond your reach?
The nighttime sun was blazing embers
Being laid to rest,
Where the horizon marries the sea.
Twilight fell,
The stars woke up
And you still stayed there with me.
What a dangerous feeling
To feel this awareness,
It covers me like skin.
It’s overwhelming
It’s so compelling
I’m used to the turmoil within.
So am I dreaming?
I’m alive and free
The stars seem so close to reach..
But yet my feet are grounded
My spirits lifted
And I walk upon this beach.
