Before

A soft light bathes this warm, watery world in a translucent glow. I feel safe here, soothed by a mix of melodic prayer and gentle sounds. But I am running out of room. I fear what awaits me, the harsh glare and first snap of air flooding my senses with a rush of what the coming world will be, the life I am about to lead, the weight of my destiny.

If your poem is a statement about the way the world is headed, then I, too, share your fear...the weight of tomorrow's destiny sometimes keeps me awake at night. Your words gave me pause. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, have a great evening, Sara

The poem is probably subject to a few different interpretations Sara...all valid. Could also be the thoughts, as humbly imagined, of Jesus just prior to being born and coming into this world...focussing on the human aspects, facing what is ahead. Many thanks for yr comments Sara...take care.
