Bed of Petals

There it lay unseen by man On a bed of rose petals Perfume wafting as on a fan Dew shimmers as it settles. Who or what, lies within What secret does the petals hide Whats snuggled down in sleep Its a leveret we will name "Abide" Your mam was killed your all alone Could see you were distressed Knew you would be safe with me Close to my petals pressed Come little man no one to hurt you Hidden amongst the petals soft "Abide" with me your safe from danger Until your strength for life is crossed
