Because of You
The days are long now
longer than I remembered,
perhaps it's because you're gone
every hour seems to lag in memories
of a time we shared in each other's dreams.
As age slips in and the darkness grows
my solitude begins to ache
longing for the time that was but is no more,
too much reminiscing, living in the past
grabbing on to the time that remains
in this here without you.
The dreams still live
if only in a vague haze that exists
clinging to all that still is possible
edging into the years that are still ours
just because of you.
