Because I Love You So Much
I love you as I imagine your head on my chest while you sleep
As I listen to the moist sound of your kisses in my ear
When I listen to the soft rumblings in your tummy as I fall asleep
I feel tenderly towards you when you hide beneath your duvet
Your secrets intrigue me as invitations of intimacy
Little by little I reveal myself to you as you also do to me
Love does this, the unfolding of trust and comfort
Like the unfolding petals in the morning mist
I long to share my comfort with you
To breathe near your tender lips
And close my eyes when I kiss you
So that we may feel our softness together
