Beauty Still Stays
Our position was on top of the summit
Then downward we started to plummet;
Snow and ice seemed to be everywhere
So we had to descend with much care.
High up on tall mountain, we had been
And thought and thrill of doing it again
Entered our minds reaching the bottom;
Will go again next year in the autumn
For a while we will continue to yearn;
Majestic mountain is where we will return
And see leaves as their colors do change
To bright ones which at bottom re-arrange.
All deciduous trees did become bare;
Snow and ice now was every where
And although I have become much older
Beauty still stays in eye of the beholder.
