Beauty Most Shallow

Exquisite Athenian goddess bronzed, a creation from God’s own hand, Sculptured in your mother’s womb, that suckled Beauty from her breast, As she gently fondled dreams to sleep, whilst deepest passions raged, unknown, In the shadows of Milos, where I lay, under the shade of the red bud tree, Under the shade of my love. Purity in rapture, unaged, without blemish, in thought or immortal soul, The blood-line of gods flowing through Beauty’s veins, a panoply of rainbows dressed, Salt water skin and silken robes, and dreams beyond my wildest Found, of flesh that steals the mind of modest thought, And deprives my soul of God. Unknowing goddess temptress, that tempts my pursing lips, That willingly rapes my funeral heart, from one that barely lives, My starving lips upon your breasts, both naked, like a cloudless sky, And devour your flesh a million times, your soul Left wanting, my angel and my whore. In God I look, his palatial heavens soaring the Olympus sky, Angelic wings that span the universe and a billion shuddering stars, with intent they watch, gauche, a soul imprisoned under Thraldom’s spell, And gazed the Goddess Muse in answer to my prayer, her hand placed Upon my threaded heart and weaved my fate foreseen. “Love resplendent knows not shallow, as beauty most shallow knows not love, For Cupid’s bow has scorched both wings, like a moth singed, Summoned to the flame of desired passion, it’s fate to lie in ashes, Will like the spent phoenix rise again and from false love reveal true love For shallow beauty craves, what shallow beauty is”. Naked clay, moulded and fired in the depths of Hell, a scavenger of men, Your creation a gift to you, sculptured by the hand of shallow thrawn That cuts deep a heart unsung. And my thrappled tongue without voice or prayer, and eyes once sparkling, gorged, Lives in the shadows of despair, blind of Beauty’s love. Mendacious eyes that seduce, and tempt a man to slay his soul, Unspoken tongue, close your eyes and listen to what he knows, That flowing curls of raven black and eyes of smouldering red, Of lips that would tempt deity and skin of golden brown, That beauty is love that dwells within, that breathes within the soul. Starved the soul of God’s intent, as Beauty bends the will of man, and fires the flame Breathes ill content and deflects the love from Heaven’s scent. The heart betrayed for Beauty’s whim, salt water skin on naked flesh, And brittle breaks inflamed, wronged love, to cry out your name, a pain unasked, To fall for beauty dressed as love, as beauty most shallow lives in death.
