Beauty In a Bubble
she smiles behind
the bubble
it's shimmery translucence
enhances her
enticingly out of reach
yet i reach out
touching the bubble, i notice
its firmness
but not hard like stone
it's supple
like youthful skin
that can be pierced
and its life giving blood released
her smile falters
has i remove my hand
from the bubble
we talk some more
her laughter is infectious
i lose all track of time
watching, listening, and learning
but later has we say goodbye
i am the one smiling
smiling because i know
that i will return tomorrow
but this time with a safety pin
so i can bust that %@!#$! bubble
