Beaucoup Blooms

 UNSUPPORTED CODE

Beginning a new spring with bitter sweet
memories of the past of romps in rye
of thimble sized strawberry perfect treats...

children dripping with bountiful surprise
with sugary tart rhubarb pies and cream.
oh, they were and are, honeyed dreams of springtime.

When our cheeks were pink and blossoms redeemed
The garden, ours, or the farmer's near bye
gave us mystery as we planted each seed.

Ah, sunflowers as high as the blue sky!
What joy, what a gift each spring anew
with children young and old blooming beaucoup!

Strawberry rhubard pie - first one I baked myself from scratch. Merci, beaucoups for a lovely reminiscence.

how precious this is. You just don't see those rhubarb pies anymore, do ya. I see this picture posted. So why are some people not keeping their pictures??

Oh, so lovely! Beaucoup, what in the world made you think of using that word? You have no idea how much your poem touched me. You see, my FRENCH grandmother had a lovely garden and I would run rampant through it. When I got a bit hungry, I would be given a cup of sugar and a washed stick of rhubarb and sent back out again. I recall sitting on her back stoop, being given a kiss on top of my head and being told, "Je t'aime... beaucoup." Feel like you were there with me ;-) Hugs Cyndi
