Beach Huts
The sun has set
and left me here
bones stretching out
towards the heart
of the heat
as my spine cracks
across the sand
I press my lips
together and
taste
the salt on
the air
the black mist on
the sea
the promise on the
wind that reassured me
that you’d come back
to me
