Hallo, Sara. Congratulations on your win in my LEKKER contest. Answering the question below: "Lekker" in this respect means that it is a good read - it contrasted excellently with the title of the book and the observation that it is still going on... Love, Su

Sara; You are so right. In our time and age - it still happens. I just saw on a special show about this woman, she is Hispanic. Her husband abused her every which way. The last he did was - he cut off her left hand, two fingers of her right hand, stabbed her and burned her face with acid. He letf her for dead and took off for Mexico. She survived and is now telling her story. Good luck in contest. Lucilla

Sounds like an interesting book. I have been reading about the Korean women kidnapped and sold as wives into China.
