Band of Reeds

An orchestra sounds As the wind blows across the waters Every pitch is thrown and bounces Around the heart of the sick lover Pining in remembrance of a lovely voice Who had no love for him And his constancy to gain her Drove her to change her identity As he searched her out Among the fields, valleys and streams He heard her singing He saw her body dancing in the wind And he found her yet knew it not He bruised her ignorantly Cut her off from the earth He made her whole again And tying her together He sits and holds her He kisses her And lies with her every night But he never realizes his dream Though he receives consolation As he plays the band of reeds She cries under his breath As she regrets her deceit Only now to be in his arms Bound by him and to him She will be all he desired As he is solaced and she weeps They make beautiful music together
