I want to be free from this pain Have a smile on my face once again Dress myself on my own Without a moan and a groan I want to be free from this pain I want to be free from this pain Be able to stand up straight again Not take pill after pill - They make me feel ill I want to be free from this pain I want to be free from this pain To be able to do what I did once again Cook my hubby nice meals Drive again; use my wheels I want to be free from this pain I want to be free from this pain Go walking with my mum once again Feel the sun on my face Yet I’m stuck in this place I want to be free from this pain 7th March 2016

Poor Jan. I did the splits unintentionally last year, and was left also unable to move a muscle. Time will heal. Chin up.

Tore the muscle right off my thigh bone Jan. That's what happens when one was never in practise, never mind out of practise.

fine piece Jan, trust it's easing for nothing worse than back pain as it effects your whole body. liked this with its natural repetitive nature, well done, have nice day, Gordon

A brilliant use of repetition that gave the effect of throbbing pain all throughout the poem. Backache is the worst of all pains, I had a slipped disc once, it was torture~~~~Cynthia

I think we all share your sentiment Jan...I too have very bad back problems...had to retire early because of it...slept on the hard floor lying down on my back with just a blanket for a year...now look what you started...you could sell elixirs lol...^WW^

it is impossible to describe the pain - this is the 2nd bout of back trouble I've had since September - all I can say is it is excruciating and like no pain I have ever had before :-( hugs Jan xx

I feel so sorry for you, Jan:( Being in pain and unable to do anything must be frustrating! Of course it's easy for us to comment, but those who have been through it have a good idea what pain is! Even one night with bad toothache is hell, let alone having terrible backache for several days. Lie back and rest...and let hubby do the work:) hugs // paul

Hope this is not literal? I occasionally get back pains but so simple a motion as bending down to pick up something. Thanksfully, I can count those painful occasions on one hand in my long life! Nevertheless, the pain is excruciating. BTW, Jan, thanks for defining Fanny for me. / M

Unfortunately this is my second bout of backache since September - it is so debilitating and excruciatingly painful:-( My husband is a gem and was having to literally do everything for me as I could hardly move - today I am in less pain but taking things VERY slowly:-(hugs Jan xx

I FEEL YA, Jan. Nothing worse than pain in one's life. Mine is always small and not debilitating like yours is, but the constancy of it all is SO damn wearing. So sorry for yours. Love the poem you got of it though.

I'm on 10 painkillers a day Andrea and nothing is touching it - I just want to be back to normal - you don't appreciate what you can do until you can't do it lol:-( hugs Jan xx

If it's nothing serious with nerves or discs I recommend over 30 mins daily of cardio to get the blood pumping. Many years ago I had back pain and this was told to me. Miraculously it helped within a week of starting.

It only hurts when you think about it. My solution would be to drink more wine and change the subject. Great write Jan. Feel better

Its a good job I don't drink - I just whine with pain and it hurts all the time at the moment the painkillers don't touch the pain at all :-( hugs jan xx

As Mick Jagger of the Stones once sang: "What a drag it is getting old". I've had those days myself, and I have a good idea of what you are going through. An admirable write.

Sweetie...I'm so so sorry you are suffering back aches. I know the pain, and I can empathize. Had x-rays done. Tell me...Is it slip disc? Something with the sciatic nerve? Oh...this makes me very sad. I wish you health and happiness, Jan. Hugs
