Back To Babylon
Back to Babylon
His hair and beard made of twigs and moss
His eyes two conkers brown looked across
His torso a tree trunk solid robust
Arms of thick branches with fingers that brush
Two legs made from the roots on which keeps him standing such
Leaves make features of his face green in summer and orange in autumn to touch
A cloak of sunlight to bring him to life
And water he drinks like blood as wife
He sits upon this earth watching humans walk his path
Then see them cut his brothers down to burn to ash
Memories of when monkeys and trees lived as one
The monkey became man then found a gun
But one day we will all recycle and the trees will be the kingdom
And man will no longer need power just structure in a world called Babylon
