Back Into Existence
I try to love you
from afar—but I know
I can never attain
again
the closeness
we once shared.
I see your successes
from a screen—and
burn with pride
imagining you
gliding
through every
milestone
gleaming.
If only reaching to a sky
could part these clouds
that I create for myself.
If only I had the courage
to speak closeness
back into existence—
back into you.
