Away Thou Goest
Pass me by, oh you who speak
with silver tongue, no words to keep
who doth appear to be so sweet
with honey voice and whispers deep.
Who tempts me as I try to fly
to spread my wings toward the skies
with promises and fantasies
that turn to ice and quickly freeze.
Turn now away, round corner go
and ease my pain, for I am old
deceive me not, this day must end
open the door to peace again.
