Awash With Colour

As I walk around my garden, I note that my daphnia is in full flower it is always my first bush to show and fill my garden with tantalising scent. My Yucca always gives me colour in the bleak month of December standing there so stately each year another head appears. The trellis will soon be awash with its orange trumpets that brighten up an otherwise dull wall and makes me smile as they reach up high. While my various rose bushes gleefully soon will cover my pergola mingling with the honeysuckle filling garden with most delightful scent. Ah everywhere the promise of Spring abounds How I long for the warm days to come when I can sit out by my ponds and watch fish darting hither and tither. Dragonflies some enormous and so pretty visit my lilles and briefly settle there Spring the month of my birth will at last soon be here.

This poem floats its beauty over the words like a warm wind might rattle the leaves on a autumn’s eve and brings tranquility to the soul. Well written with poetic flow aided by superb imagery. Emile. #7

Dear Shadow, A delightful collage of the many flowers that grace gardens. I wonder if thee vines that grow here are the "orange trumpets" you have on your trellis. I'd love to walk through your garden with you. Excellent writing! Love, carolyn

It sounds very beautiful, Shadow. I'll look to see if Campsis Grandiflora is available at our local nursery!

G'day there Shadow... It appears from your poem and many others that you are sick to death of winter in the US. With the images you've written, you must have a vibrant and colourful garden that is displayed well in your poem Shadow - Lindsay

ty Janet yes it is a real oasis I have lived here for 30 years and my wonderful gardener makes sure that it is a place of peace and beauty. I have one large pond and two small ones that run into each other filling the air with tinkling sounds. It brings such pleasure to sit outside enjoying a meal hugs
