Awaiting Inspiration- Your Journey Contest

I sit in my armchair a multitude of thoughts like butterflies fluttering around my brain Looking for the very essence of life. The very best i seek, the most colourful to use in a new contest To write about .......... I don't know, my mind hasn't focussed Inspiration hasn't trickled down to the pen, it is still waiting, the ink dries within Slowly my thoughts are gathered time to set the quill on fire, gathering the multitude of words, filing them into recognizable verse. I write, i erase it and re-write the basket fills with destroyed copies, the train of thought carries on. Eyes now tightly shut time to relax the carriage door to my mind is closed, shutters are down All thoughts have been scribed, the entry to the contest is now ready. Penned August 2 2013

I remember when I used to have to look for the words almost. I would be there forcing and trying to turn one or two good lines into a poem. I started giving it time, letting go, using fixed forms instead of free verse, now I often fight to hold the words back. I don't know if it is through practice or learning, but then again, many of my ideas currently seem repetative, although I do try and present them in new ways. I guess I've talked about my process instead of your poem, great work Seren.
