Autumn Stripped Bare

Autumn’s pretty dress drifts slowly to the ground She shivers as the rich russet robe gently falls Her dress dances in the breeze, making a rustling sound It floats down leaving a crunchy blanket under our feet We must wait for spring until her green dress is complete Autumn’s glorious colour fades and soon winter calls Nature’s ever changing beauty is such a wonderful treat I adore how the seasons transform our countryside around 10-26-16

This is my favourite rhyme scheme, a form of enclosed rhyme that I use most often. Perhaps not on Soup, but most definitely on my blog. I love your poem very much! Good luck in the contest, and many hugs :)

A good description of Autumn's seasonal change. She gently eases us into the harshness of the next with many bare branches

The first line really gets this moving, makes me think of the autumn as a goddess, or deity of sorts. Beautifully composed Jan. And good luck.
