Autumn Rose
A star shines above songs of frogs
Summer has ended thrown to dogs
Fields brilliant shades orange brown gold
Lavender faded flowers fold
Barbed-wire fence post soaking dew
morning mist burned away by sunlight hue
crickets chirp among the row of fir
waiting for night to sing their verse
bend of creek where waters turn
small rapids which fail much churn
nostalgic ghosts of times untold
last of rose petals hold
soothing noon sun will to shine
hills bearing wheat and hay to bind
find me there nestled sweet
well rested still from head to feet
