Autumn Leaves

Autumn leaves are turning yellow Whirling, twirling, fluttering down. Little squirrel, tail aquiver Searches on the frosty ground. In the sky the birds are calling Flying south to find the sun, In the earth the seeds are buried Sleeping ‘til the winter’s done.

I love the imagery and flow of this. It's a perfect presentation of the sort of melancholy that settles in late Autumn. The last sigh before the cold. Beautifully written, May. I hope winter is kind to you. ;)
