Autumn Evening

Tonight I found friends Not in human form but; In the land, sky and nature. I strolled along a country road, Taking in what the Good Lord bestowed. The sunshine, green grass, Birds of the air. One could almost hear Our Father's voice in the Gentle breezes. A deer ambled Out on the road, Not noticing I was there. Thoughts of Him that put Us both there. The locust sang their Songs in the trees. The glorious afterglow Of the evening, as the Sun bids a farewell Good Night. Oh, thank you Lord For friends like these.
