Autumn Color
The untraveled road lay before me,
taking me miles away from town,
A planned trip to drive and view
the change in foliage autumn hue.
It was windy, cool and beautiful to see,
the seasonal change that lay before me.
And as the sun began to set I returned
to drive the familiar routine roadway home.
There along my frequented path lie hidden and discreet
the repetitious flow of trees appearing on my street
yellows, oranges, full color glowing brittle sheen
amidst a pop of red, brown, dark cherry, plum, and evergreen.
With unexpected observation I was suprised
full color palettes unseen, no longer in disguise.
Here in silence waiting at my very door
tall, vibrant and magnificent color galore.
