Autumn brings such a loving heart Stark weather stimulates senses Bright skies, colorful pretenses Beautiful piece of fall to start A wonderful coolness is here A light wind stays, Autumn secure I open up to every part Pathways are there simply to be Great routes to go on, moving free Taking leaves inside a lone cart Pile them high and throw them about Play like a child so scream and shout Autumn air fills to each impart Starting to get cold, fall’s begun A colorful scene, crisp and calm Autumn brings such a loving heart Beautiful piece of fall to start I open up to every part Taking leaves inside a lone cart Autumn air fills to each impart Entrant into Andrea Dietrich's "Can you Constanza?" contest 8/21/2012

oh, dang, I thought I had congratulated already, Russell. But I come here and see that your poem got overlooked by me. BIG congratulations in my contest judged with Connie. you captured the essence of fall and the fun of being a child in the gathered leaves. I love how you put bold print on your first lines and then showed them all bold in the bottom poem. Nobody else did that! It makes the small poem stand out. So nice!

Russell, Congratulations on your placement in Andrea’s “Can you Constanza? Contest.” There were so many really amazing entries we had a very difficult time deciding. We had to go by who followed the form best, and whose poem was most creative. I spent 4 and half hours going over the poems and Andrea, a lot longer.
