Autobiography of a Nineties Celebrity

In the used bookstore I came across yet another autobiography of a celebrity I didn’t recognize This particular one was written by a celebrity who was apparently big time Twenty-five years ago As I write this, I don’t recall the name of the author But I don’t think I can forget his introductory remarks featured on the back cover Where he lamented of being in the spotlight and everyone knowing him, photographers following him hoping to catch his sight I read it and wondered, “Who in the 773H is this guy?” I asked around and nobody else could recall, either. If he walked into the store I could look at him and see just another customer. In a way, it’s a little sad to see fame come and gone so fast, not passing time’s test. But if he didn’t like it much, anyway, he got what he wanted, I guess.

My good friend, the best book is not one that merely informs, but one that gets the reader to inform themselves.
