Author's Notes

One Father, Two Sons, and the History that Divides them! This Poem was Inspired by Watching the News, and Seeing the Constant Fighting both Verbally and Physically of Both the Israeli and the Palestinian or Muslim Individuals, Even though they Both are Two Sons and Descendants of Father Abraham. And Me as an Outsider Not Understanding Why The Conflict Exists, and Why They Just Can't Merely Forget, or Easily Get Over It. What Is The Price of Your Voice? This Poem Was Inspired by The Concept of Independence. The Liberating of the Nation, and its White Citizens, But Not Its Black Slaves, Who's Labor was Being Exploited to Assist in this Liberation, Development and The Independence of this New World, i.e. This New Nation. In Fact its Survival Depended Heavily on the Continued Enslavement of Its African Brothers and Sisters, Who were Forcibly brought to this New World. A Gift From Above! This Poem was Inspired by the Expected Birth of My Second Daughter, The Joy, Fear and Other Emotions Which Were Evoked Due to Her Arrival. I Hope that this Poem Will Allow you to Reminisce on the Feelings Emotions and Thoughts that Encapsulated Your Mind When You Discovered that You Were Also Expecting a Baby. Will You Ever See Me? This Poem was Inspired by the Fact that I am Young Black Male, Who has White Ancestors. Their Direct Involvement In the Slave Trade, How That Originated My Existence, and Your Individual Walk Through Life, Knowing this Fact, and Not Being Accepted Fully by White or Black Members of Society, or the Community in which We live. The Journey Less Travelled! This Poem Was Inspired by Mr. Simon Cowell, and Me Hearing him, having had an Accident, Where He was Badly Hurt. I Wanted to Pay Tribute to the Positive Effect which HE Has Had on the Music Industry, Entertainment and the World in General. But Most Importantly I Wanted to Memorialize The Birth of his son, and how this Event Will Surpass All Other Achievements Thus Far for Him, In Regards to Positively Affecting the World in Which We Live. Father Will I Ever Measure Up? This Poem was Inspired by Me Reading the Bible, and Realizing how Far Short I Fall in Comparison to God's Standards, and the Virtues or Ideals that are Exhibited there. Thus I Don't Measure Up, But I know that God's Grace will Acknowledge My Short-Comings But Cover My Faults, Sins, or Acts of Choice and Volition, So that I will be Eligible to Come into the Presence of a Perfect and Holy God.
